IGU Consulting Finance · Marketing · Growth

Two disciplines.
One growth strategy.

Integrated finance and marketing strategy for startups and growing businesses

IGU Consulting pairs a corporate finance operator with a career marketing strategist — so your numbers and your narrative finally agree. One team builds the model and the message, the forecast and the funnel, together.

Practice Areas

Two practices. Equal weight.

Most growing businesses don’t have a finance problem or a marketing problem — they have an alignment problem. We run both disciplines as one practice, so pricing, spend, and story are decided from the same numbers.

Finance

Led by John Ungur

The discipline behind the decisions — models, pricing, and cash planning you can actually run the business on.

  • Financial modeling & forecasting
  • Pricing & unit economics
  • Cash flow & runway planning
  • Budgeting
  • KPI dashboards
  • Fundraising strategy & materials
  • Investor / board reporting
  • Financial systems & process

Marketing

Led by Georgiana Ungur

The discipline behind demand — positioning, campaigns, and channels chosen to fit the economics, not the other way around.

  • Brand & positioning
  • Messaging
  • Growth strategy
  • Market entry & channel selection
  • Campaign architecture
  • Launch planning
  • Paid social & search
  • SEO & content
  • Email & lifecycle
  • Landing pages & conversion optimization
  • Analytics
  • Marketing automation

Finance gives the story credibility.
Marketing gives the numbers a voice.

Why Integrated

Separate advisors optimize different things

A finance advisor protects margin. A marketing advisor chases growth. Hired separately, each can do good work that quietly works against the other — campaigns that win customers the model can’t afford, or budgets so cautious the story never gets told. One team changes the math.

01

One plan

The forecast, the pricing, and the go-to-market plan are built together — not reconciled after the fact in a meeting neither advisor attended.

02

One budget

Marketing spend is set against runway, unit economics, and payback — so growth is funded on purpose, not by hope or by habit.

03

One story

Customers, partners, and investors hear the same company — because the narrative and the numbers behind it were written by the same team.

How We Work

Senior only. No handoffs.

One team, one plan

Every engagement is led by both founders together. Finance and marketing are never sold, scoped, or delivered as separate silos.

Numbers first, narrative second

We start with the model — pricing, margins, runway — then build the story the numbers can support. Credibility first, amplification second.

Founders do the work

No juniors, no handoffs, no account managers relaying messages. The people you meet on the discovery call are the people who do the work.

Engagements

Fixed-scope ways to work together

Productized engagements with clear deliverables and timelines. Pricing is scoped on the discovery call, based on your stage and the work involved — there are no off-the-shelf price tags because there are no off-the-shelf businesses.

Founders

A husband-and-wife founder pair

IGU Consulting is led by John and Georgiana Ungur. Every engagement is led by both founders — the finance lead and the marketing lead in the room together, from the first call to the final review.

Founder & Finance Lead

John Ungur

John brings more than 15 years of experience at Microsoft and Boeing across corporate finance and business development, including partnership and deal economics — among them the Samsung deals and CSP (cloud solution provider) partnerships.

He co-founded Kleard, a PropTech startup, and today works as a fractional CFO for growing businesses — building the forecasts, pricing models, and cash plans that marketing spend has to answer to.

Co-Founder & Marketing Lead

Georgiana Ungur

Georgiana brings 16+ years building marketing programs for technology, consumer, and professional-services brands — positioning, campaigns, and channels that turn a clear story into demand.

As marketing lead, she owns brand, messaging, and growth strategy for every engagement, working from the same model and the same budget as the finance side — not a separate plan.

Fit

Is IGU right for you?

We’re a small, senior practice by design. That makes us the right partner for some businesses and the wrong one for others — we’d rather be clear about both.

A good fit if you are…

  • A founder or startup getting finance and marketing aligned before — or while — you scale and raise
  • A growing business where marketing spend and financial reality have drifted apart, and you need them planned together
  • Preparing to fundraise or launch and needing the model and the story to hold up as one
  • Looking for senior operators who will do the work themselves and tell you what the numbers actually say

Not the right fit if you want…

  • A large agency team — we are two founders, deliberately, not a department with layers
  • Standalone deliverables as an engagement — for a model on its own, see our templates; consulting here is the integrated plan
  • Execution without strategy — we build the plan and the economics together before campaigns or spend
  • Handoffs to junior staff — if you need bench depth over senior attention, a bigger firm will serve you better

Questions

Frequently asked questions

It means finance and marketing are planned together by one team: one plan, one budget, one story. Pricing and unit economics inform which channels and campaigns make sense; marketing results feed back into the forecast. You don’t get a finance plan and a separate marketing plan that have to be reconciled later.
The founders. John Ungur leads finance and Georgiana Ungur leads marketing, and both lead every engagement together. There are no juniors and no handoffs — the people on your discovery call are the people who do the work.
With a free, no-obligation discovery call. We listen first, identify the top revenue gaps, and you leave with a clear next step. If an engagement fits, scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees are agreed in writing before work begins.
Our engagements are integrated by design — that alignment is the point of the practice. John also works as a fractional CFO, and retainers include dedicated finance and marketing leads, so the emphasis can flex by season; but we don’t take on one-off, disconnected projects in a single silo.
Business development, partnerships, and finance practitioners who structure revenue-share, reseller, or co-sell deals and need a credible, ready-to-use model instead of building one from scratch. The templates are currently in development; each workbook will include worked examples so you can see the logic before entering your own numbers.
The templates are not yet for sale. When they launch, checkout and file delivery will be handled securely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider — you’ll receive a download link by email after purchase, with prices in USD and sales tax / VAT, where applicable, calculated at checkout by the provider as merchant of record.
